ARGININE – A PRE WORKOUT SUPPLEMENT

We all know that protein is very important when you are doing HIIT ( High Intensity Interval Training). Not only this, protein is also important to build up your lean muscle mass, boost up immunity as well as for fat loss. But choosing the right quality protein is quite challenging as the entire Indian market is flooded with numerous varieties of protein powder, supplements and the number is enough to confuse the entire population.

Let’s come to the point –

What we should take as a pre workout supplement then?

The key benefit to take a pre workout supplement is to experience bigger muscle pumps whilst you are training. Basically, ingredients – which increase nitric oxide production, improves exercise performance.

YOU must be thinking that OMG, Nitric Oxide?? — a chemical we need for better performance? Let me explain why am I talking about nitric oxide..

It is a molecule that is produced naturally in our body which helps in vasodilation, a process by which inner muscles are relaxed, widens and increases blood circulation. While doing exercise, increased blood circulation aids in proper oxygen supply to each and every muscle tissue improves your performance.

Several dietary supplements are marketed as “nitric oxide boosters” while the most common and effective is L- Arginine.

What is L-Arginine?

L- Arginine is an essential amino acid which helps to produce nitric oxide in the body results in better muscle pump in the gym. In fact, body produces arginine under normal circumstances or people can take the natural form of it as a part of their normal diet.

Science Behind It…

  • Muscle Growth: It helps in muscle growth as it helps in the synthesis of other protein. Besides the growth in muscle mass, arginine signalling pathway encourages the release of growth hormone which promotes fat metabolism. So you can expect a lean muscle mass and slim and trim body.

  • Improves strength and stamina to perform better.

  • Vasodilation and Endurance: Precursor of vasodilator, the SUPERMAN Nitric Oxide promotes endurance and muscle conditioning. When nitric oxide is released, it widens the blood vessels by relaxing the muscle behind it. Widen blood vessels decreases blood pressure, promotes more blood flow which supplies more oxygen to working muscles and increases its performance. This process removes lactic acid by reduction of lactate to pyruvate, promote healing and provides peak performance.

Boost Up Immunity: Practising strength training or HIIT often causes physical and oxidative stress. Here also, SUPERMAN L-Arginine mops up all the free radicals and increases cell immunity.

Who Should take it?

Well, people like us who leads a sedentary lifestyle with low to moderate exercise, can get nitric oxide from natural food sources like garlic, meat, beetroot, leafy greens, pomegranate, nuts and seeds etc. But athletes, strength athletes and endurance athletes or those who want to increase their ‘pump’ can take L-arginine supplements under proper supervision.

How much and when to take it?

A low dose 3-5 gm daily can be taken to start with but this dose may vary from person to person. It should be taken 30 min before your workout so that it will be digested totally to give you best effect. If you increase the dose rapidly then might face weakness, dizziness, nausea.
