Is Brown Rice Better Than White Rice?

Many individuals these days are getting quite health conscious and want to select healthy alternatives in their diet. Quite sadly, Google search has made it even more confusing for such individuals and they land up following what’s written on the web blindly.

 

For example, someone wants to desperately lose weight and wants to consume healthy. So the person researches about healthy fruit diet on Google search and eats only fruits for a month and feels weak! Do you think that a healthy diet is supposed to make someone so weak! Well, Do not get me wrong. I am not saying that fruits are bad for health. You can definitely consume them along with a balanced diet without depriving yourselves of essential vitamins and minerals needed by your body.

Another big question most of the individuals have is all about brown rice and white rice as to which one is better and healthier?

People these days prefer consuming white rice because it is much easier to cook whereas brown rice takes a lot of time to cook. Well, brown rice (whole grain rice) is made up of the bran layer, germ and endosperm where as white rice due to being processed does not contain the bran and the germ layer which means that white rice is devoid of essential vitamins like B vitamins, minerals and fibre as compared to brown rice.

You may wonder how come brown rice helps to prevent and treat diabetes. Well brown rice along with certain B vitamins like thiamine and niacin contains magnesium which helps to lower the blood sugar level thus preventing diabetes. Thus do not forget to make whole grains your best friend since the glycemic index of brown rice is 50 and that of white rice is 82 which is a red signal for diabetes.

You may have also heard that brown rice contains certain toxic compounds like arsenic. But it can only be harmful for you if you consume only a single cereal and nothing along with it. Thus, it is highly recommended for individuals to include all the food groups in the diet.

It does this because of an amazing magical plant compound that it contains called as lignin. According to various research studies when individuals made a gradual shift from white rice to brown rice they improved their cardiac health tremendously. So do not look at the cooking time, what you all have to look at is at the benefits.

Every girl wants to look slim and happy just like their favourite model or actress. Even if you have an important social event coming up in your family may be a wedding, you get quite worried if you are overweight as to how you will look in your outfit. Also drink lots of water and keep yourself hydrated. Always, remember that there are no shortcuts to weight loss. There are many individuals who have tried various invasive surgeries on weight loss for quick weight loss but are now repenting due to the side-effects of these surgeries. Thus, always remember that weight loss is a gradual process. Even Rome was not built in a day and therefore keeping this thing in mind you should lose weight in a healthy way.
