In our country summer is always criticised for its patchy and sweaty features. But summer has lots of positive vibes in it. The great legend Shakespeare also compared his beloved friend with a summer’s day. In the poetic language it is – “shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?” There are so many good things to do in summer. For the active people it provides more time to work hard for your fortune as the days are longer. And for the health conscious people summer is the ultimate time to burn more calories.

The prime focus of discussion is how summer is the ideal time to burn calories. One main point which should be kept in mind that one needs to keep himself hydrated throughout the summer. The blazing atmosphere tends to absorb the moisture from our body. We sweat a lot, so keeping ourselves hydrated is very important. Apart from this summer is the best time for cultivation also. Nature has so many varieties of vegetables and fruits in her beverage basket. We have ample scope to keep ourselves healthy and hydrated throughout the summer.

  • First we have the special fruit specially grown during summer time is watermelon. Water soothes the most during the scorching summer. Fruit is an amazing way to consume water. Watermelon is a natural hydrator due to its high water content. It also appears with bright colours for the presence of antioxidant lycopene. You can have watermelon by simply slicing it or else make a smoothie by blending it with fruits of your choice, ice, orange zest and other ingredients.
  • Proteins provide you the energy to fight against the burning weather of summer. Less amount of protein leads to the feeling of famish. According to the nutritionist shrimp is a great source of protein. It is also a light food which can be consumed during the day and night time meals. Opt for grilled, baked, or roasted shrimp instead of fried shrimps for greater result.
  • Fish like Salmon and Halibut are rich in omega-3 fats. You can search over the internet about the benefits of omega 3. Fishes are so easy and time savvy items to cook. You can simply grill the fish or cook it in your own way with moderate amount of spices to satisfy your tongue and appetite.
  • Tea has many benefits and is appreciated by dieticians and beauticians as well. Tea tree oil has great beneficial properties for skin. For summer you can opt for iced tea which is as useful as normal tea. Both green tea and black tea are packed with antioxidant particles to fight against many diseases. Avoid extra added sugar and milk tea for greater results.
  • During summer your health needs extra nourishment. Low cooked foods or stove-free foods are the best way to nurture your health. Salad is a great recipe which brings a feeling of refreshment for your body and mood also. Show your creativity to make your own salad with vegetables of your choice; you can add fish or meat in your salad with a dash of dressing according to your taste.
